Mark Silverman
Managing Director
Mark joined Catamount in 2006 and serves as a Managing Director for Funds III & IV. Mark led investments in and served on the boards of several of our leading companies.
Mark spent most of his 25-year career building and advising technology and life sciences companies. He also devoted three years to researching the link between longevity and social engagement. Now he is the Founder and CEO of Amava, a member-based organization dedicated to keeping people active and socially engaged.
Before joining Catamount Ventures, Mark spent more than 18 years working with early-stage technology and life sciences companies. He co-founded and served as President and CEO of Bocada, Inc., where he led the company from inception to an early market leader in enterprise data protection management. Before that, Mark was Vice President, Business Development and Health Services and General Counsel for drugstore.com where he was responsible for building key relationships with ecommerce and healthcare industry leaders, as well as for managing the company's pharmacy, health services and legal operations.
Mark started his career in Law, first at Davis Polk in New York, N.Y., and then as a Partner at Venture Law Group in Menlo Park, California. Mark holds a J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles and a B.A. in History from the University of California at Berkeley.
